Ja Rule Apologizes for Chaos at 2017 Fyre Festival: “I’m Heartbroken at This Moment”

Ja Rule's Fyre Festival turned out to be a complete mess and now the rapper is apologizing for the chaos in the Bahamas.

On Thursday (April 27), attendees began flooding social media with their accounts of the terrible conditions at the festival, which was billed as a swanky island party in the Bahamas featuring performances by the G.O.O.D. Music roster among other artists.

Patrons who paid a minimum of $1,500 have been stuck on the island where tents have not been assembled and gourmet cuisine has been reduced to ham and cheese sandwiches. The circumstances have led to accusations of fraud, prompting Ja Rule to issue an apology via Twitter. The rapper emphasized that he was not attempting to scam attendees.

"We are working right now on getting everyone of[f] the island SAFE that is my immediate concern," Ja Rule wrote. "I will make a statement soon I'm heartbroken at this moment my partners and I wanted this to be an amazing event it was NOT A SCAM as everyone is reporting I don't know how everything went so left but I'm working to make it right by making sure everyone is refunded... I truly apologize as this is NOT MY FAULT... but I'm taking responsibility I'm deeply sorry to everyone who was inconvenienced by this..."
