When you're as wholistically successful as Jay Z, you've got to invent new challenges for yourself. With that in mind, it isn't too surprising to see that Hova has decided to make the world of TV the site of his next conquest. According to the folks at Page Six, the "Empire State of Mind" performer is producing a six-hour miniseries based on the exploits of Nicholas Irving, the U.S. army's first African American sniper.

The new TV series will be based on Irving's 2017 memoir, The Reaper: Autobiography of One of the Deadliest Special Ops Snipers. American Crime Story: The People v O.J. Simpson star Sterling K. Brown will continue his breakout as an actor by playing the role of Irving, a sniper who was so skilled that he once killed 33 enemies during a period of only four months. The rights to Irving's memoir were recently acquired by the Weinstein Company, who recently announced a first look deal with Jay Z.

The news comes on the heels of Hov announcing that he's also producing a TV series on the tragic life of Kalief Browder, who was kicked through the justice system despite being innocent before taking his own life upon being freed. In addition, Jay is also producing a biopic on the life of legendary comedian Richard Pryor.

Over the last 15 or so years, Hov has become nearly as respected for his business acumen as he has for his prowess on the microphone, and it's hard not to respect his grind. In a recent interview with Marie Claire Magazine, Nicki Minaj cited Hova as someone who's inspired her approach to business. “I can look at someone’s career and just pinpoint the dos and the don’ts, and the one person I’ve done that with for my entire career was Jay Z," Nicki explained. "He did such a great job being an authentic street guy and a businessman, and I was like, ‘Why aren’t there women doing that, taking the success from rap and channeling it into their empire?’ I felt like anything he could do, I could do.”
