A former Louisiana prep football standout is listed as one of the top five favorites to win the 2019 Heisman Trophy.

The 5-foot-10, 200-pound Etienne is listed a 12/1 betting choice, which puts him in a 5-way tie for the fourth-spot on the board, joining Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm, Ohio St. quarterback Justin Fields, Georgia running back D'Andre Swift, and Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor.

The 2018 Heisman Trophy winner, Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, is the early favorite for the 2019 award, with 3/1 opening odds.

Alabama quarterback while Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa is the second choice, at 4/1, followed by his teammate, quarterback Jalen Hurts, who is expected to transfer from Alabama to another school for the 2019 season.

The 2018 ACC Offensive Player of the Year, and a first-team All-American, as tabbed by TSN & ESPN, Etienne rushed for 1,659 yards and an FBS-leading 24 rushing touchdowns this past season.
