Jhene Aiko Hits the Beach in ‘My Afternoon Dream’ Video

If you've been following Jhene Aiko on Instagram, you know she's been getting in major beach time in Hawaii for the past week. And not only did she celebrate her 26th birthday on the beach with some R&R, she also managed to drop a new track for fans, 'My Afternoon Dream.'

With her soothing vocals floating over the airy beat and delicate piano-playing in the background, the track makes you really feel like you're lying in a hammock between two palm trees about to take a nap in the sun.

“Don’t wake me up ’cause I’m in love with all that you are / You make me see the truth in things, I think that you are / The remedy for everything it seems that you are,” she sings.

Not only do we get the new song, Jhene also treats us to a video to go along with 'My Afternoon Dream.' Using a blue filter that makes it look like old film negatives, the video has no real narrative but features a slow panning of the beach and even some shots of her daughter, Namiko, playing by the waves.

If you're feeling a bit sluggish after the weekend, this might just be the right track to put your mind at ease today.
