Joe Jackson had another medical scare when a routine checkup gone awry last Friday (May 14). The Jackson family patriarch went to the doctors to do some scheduled tests when suddenly he became ill.

According to TMZ, the 87-year-old Jackson struck a high fever and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

In a taped interview conducted with TMZ on Saturday (May 15), Jermaine Jackson said that his father is recovering and doing well.

"We were all worried, but he's doing much better," he said. "He's much healthier and we're very happy about that."

"All his vital signs are great," Jermaine adds. "He's just tired. He's 87. We're just tryin' to hold onto him as long as we can."

This isn't the first time Joe Jackson had to be hospitalized. Last July, he suffered a stroke while celebrating his 87th birthday in Brazil. According to reports, the elderly Jackson allegedly took too many Viagra pills, which may have cause his heart attack.

Although reps for Mr. Jackson said it was untrue, the Brazilian newspaper Diario de Sao Paulo reported that he was taking “three little blue” pills to maintain an erection. “It was too much for him,” said an alleged source.

Doctors were able to implant a pacemaker and Jackson left the hospital. Despite his hospitalization, Jackson requested that his $200,000 birthday party go on without him.

We are glad that Joe Jackson is feeling better and we want to wish him a speedy recovery.
