Joshua Ledet kicked off his ‘American Idol’ double header with the winning song by his personal idol and ‘Idol’ alum, Fantasia. He made believers out of all of us with an inspiring performance of ‘I Believe.’ And he couldn’t have matched it any better with is second round performance.

Ryan Seacrest asked Ledet if his choice of Fantasia’s winning song was foreshadowing for the end of this season. Ledet couldn’t give him an answer, but we say perhaps, “yes.” After appearing in the bottom three last week, his choice of a song that says, “I believe anything is possible when you believe” was perfect for staging a come back. And we’re pretty sure Jennifer Lopez didn’t need to beg the audience not to send him home after his follow-up performance of Sam Cooke’s ‘A Change Is Gonna Come.’ A change is coming and it’s Joshua Ledet leading the pack.

He gave it all on the stage and had the judges on their feet after both songs. Jennifer Lopez recognized that when he performs, he leaves it all on the stage. She said, “You give America something that is all of you.” Lopez felt blessed to have Ledet on the show and Randy Jackson was touched by his performance. He said he could only hope America would believe in him and keep him in the competition. Steven Tyler wrapped up the rousing performance by telling Ledet that he could win the whole thing and, “There’s nothing more to say anymore.”

Ledet killed it in round two. Jackson called his performance “stellar.” Tyler said, “Your voice climbs inside of everybody and changes them for that moment.” And all J. Lo could do was plead, “Please, America, don’t send this boy home. Please!” Clearly, the choice is tough after tonight. It was Ledet who prompted Jackson to declare, “The talent this season is better than any show on TV. End of story.”
