Juelz Santana is being accused of fleeing the scene of a security screening after Transportation Security Administration agents discovered a gun in his bag at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, on Friday evening (March 9).

The Diplomats rapper, born LaRon James, was attempting to catching a flight when his bag was flagged during a screening at Terminal C, reports NBC New York.

When the gun was located, the "There It Go" rapper reportedly ran from the airport and may have jumped into a cab before he could be detained. He left his belongings and the firearm behind.

The punishment for bringing a firearm to a airport security checkpoint is a hefty fine of up to $10,000 and can even lead to an arrest in some cases. That hasn't stopped a number of rappers from getting caught slipping in the past.

Juelz was arrested on narcotics and weapons charges back in 2011, after a police raid of his Santana's World studios uncovered two fully loaded handguns, marijuana and boxes of ammunition.

He was sentenced to two years probation in 2013 in another incident where he was accused of making death threats to a neighbor who reportedly tried to intervene in an altercation he was having with his girlfriend.

In music-related news, the Harlem rapper and his Diplomats crew are working on a new EP and a documentary after reuniting late last year. "We working on a Dipset docu-EP right now, so, it will be very dope—slash movie, slash seven songs," Jim Jones told TRL in November.
