Justin Bieber does not sit down for many interviews. Manager Scooter Braun talks to the media more than his famous client does. But in a no-holds-barred chat with the Biebs, The Hollywood Reporter got to the meat of his tumultuous 2013. Bieber had one critical thing to say: "I don't give a f---."

But he isn't talking about being a brat and behaving "reckless" where he will "do whatever." What he means is he doesn't care what people, like media stalkers, say about him.

While that first, curse-driven statement is sorta rebellious, he followed it up with something more mature, saying, "I know who I am and what I’m doing in my life and what I’ve accomplished and continue to accomplish as a performer, as a writer, as an artist, as a person, as a human being. I’m happy with the man I’m becoming.”

Glad to hear it, kiddo!

Braun weighed in on their silence when it came to the flood of rumors that followed the teen this past year.

Put simply: There were too many to address, and silence is golden.

"The rumors were coming so fast and furious that we couldn’t address all of them,” the manager said. "Say whatever the f--- you want. Justin’s not going to go crazy. He’s not going to end up in rehab. He’s not going to end up a statistic. Nine months ago, they said he lost his mind -- he hasn’t missed a show since. So we’re just going to shut up.”

All of the drama has left the Biebs wary of people, and their motives and intentions. “I trust my mom and dad,” he said. “I trust Scooter with my career; he’s always made sure I’m taken care of. That’s it.” We're glad he doesn't trust, oh, say, Lil Twist.

Braun understands his client's apprehension. “He’s the only person in humanity who’s grown up the way he has -- with smartphones and cameras on him 24/7," Braun said, making a point that we can't argue. "Another kid can go out and have a good night on the town, and no one gives a crap, but Justin is the most Googled person on the planet -- for four years straight!”

People care about Bieber, even on the periphery. Eminem's manager reached out to Braun saying, “If you ever want Eminem to talk to him, he would do it in a second. He cares about that kid.”

Also, Will Smith drove to the Biebs' house during a low point to drag him out of bed and give him a three-hour talk. That's impressive, since Smith is one of the biggest stars on the planet.

The Biebs revealed he digs rock music, like Led Zeppelin to Korn, and black culture, but not in a straightforward way. He's also done with "swag" as a word. GASP!

“I’m very influenced by black culture, but I don’t think of it as black or white,” says Bieber. “It’s not me trying to act or pose in a certain way. It’s a lifestyle -- like a suaveness or a swag, per se. But I don’t really like to say the word ['swag'] anymore. It’s kind of played out.”

We get it... we think.
