Justin Timberlake is one of those rare child stars who avoided trouble and went on to become an even bigger adult star. But he's certainly not smug about his success -- in fact, when he was asked about Miley Cyrus' latest exploits, he was positively diplomatic.

"I don't know that I have a definitive thought in one direction or the other about it," he told Matt Lauer on the 'Today' show. "I think she's really smart, and I think she's really talented."

"I'm not saying I agree with the presentation, but I also feel like every 10 to 15 years we pick somebody that this is what we're going to do with them ... we're going to make them the model of who we want our daughters to be or not be."

Justin's careful neutrality was certainly in sharp contrast to Cher's comments about Miley's infamous VMA performance -- the legendary diva recently criticized everything from the dancing to the song to the 'We Can't Stop' singer's physique (but later said she should've kept her "opinionated mouth" shut about the whole thing).
