After much speculation, hip-hop star Kanye West will return to 'Saturday Night Live' in May as a musical guest on the show's season finale.

The folks at 'SNL' confirmed the news today (April 26) with an announcement via their official Twitter account. The tweet reads: "And for the Season 38 Finale, 5/18: @BenAffleck joins the #5thTimersClub with his 5th appearance as host! And music from @KanyeWest #SNL."

This will be Yeezy's fifth time performing on the show -- the last time the rapper graced the stage was in October 2010. Fun Fact: Justin Timberlake is a member of the illustrious Five-Timers Club after hosting and performing on the March 9 episode.

Now whether or not Yeezy performs any new material during his appearance is anyone's guess. However, the Throne rhymer has been busy recording his new solo album in Paris as he awaits for the birth of his child with girlfriend Kim Kardashian.

According to reports, West was in New York earlier this week to preview music from his new album for executives at Def Jam. So there's a possibility that 'Ye might bring something extra to his 'SNL' gig.
