Kanye West surprised New York clubgoers Saturday morning (Aug. 4) when he decided to preview tracks from his G.O.O.D. Music compilation album ‘Cruel Summer.’ According to the New York Daily News, the rapper showed up at the PH-D Rooftop Lounge to hang out with his buddy Leonardo DiCaprio and decided to take over the DJ booth.

A source told the newspaper that Yeezy went into his backpack, grabbed his laptop, hooked it up to the turntables and started spinning songs from the album. Among the tracks that West played was a song that included the repetitive chorus, “My perfect b—-.” The source said the tune referenced his current boo Kim Kardashian and his former flame Amber Rose.

“(He raps) verses about his search for the perfect woman and how he has now found the “perfect b—-,’” explained the insider. “The crowd was on their feet.” According to another ear-witness, the song in question sampled German composer Carl Orff’s 1937 composition ‘Carmina Burana,’ which Nas and Diddy also sampled for their 1999 track ‘Hate Me Now.’

“New York City, make some noise for Kanye West world premiering new music!” yelled DJ Reach after West finished his 45-minute impromptu deejay session. Afterward, West returned to the VIP section to congratulatory high-fives from DiCaprio and his revelers.

Kanye West is expected to release ‘Cruel Summer’ on Sept. 4. Last week, the rapper unveiled the album’s cover art, which features a statue of a woman holding her bosoms in front of a bed of leaves. The set’s main singles are ‘Mercy’ and ‘New God Flow.’
