Could Kanye West be getting a hang of the internet? That seemed to be the case yesterday (Feb. 3), when the rapper trolled everybody on Twitter with a mocked up cover of Rolling Stone magazine.

The cover featured his smiling mug with the caption, "ROLLING STONE SHOT BY TYLER THE CREATOR." While the cover looks legit, the tagline was a cause for curiosity as it read, "Does he like mustard?"

While everybody scrambled to make sense of the question and the cover, Rolling Stone themselves pointed out that it was not an official cover for the publication -- though they'd be open to suggestions. "While we love Kanye, and have many mustard-related questions for him, this is not an actual cover of Rolling Stone," the mag tweeted.

Appearing to be enjoying himself, Kanye then wrote, "I bet you this still becomes the cover though... Let's do another poll..... ," before giving fans a poll on Twitter to decide whether or not it should be. At 9 a.m. EST, 57 percent of 20,243 votes were for Yes.

But the fun was cut short for West when he took in the media's coverage of the unauthorized cover, singling out Billboard for referring to it as "fake." "it’s not a fake cover… you seen it didn’t you… you know we shot it didn’t you…" Kanye wrote toward the publication before declaring, "Aye Billboard you could use the term “unauthorized" but never refer to anything that me and Tyler do as fake out of respect to musicians…"

So much for joking Kanye. With Waves set to drop a week from today, on Feb. 11, Kanye is more present than ever, with the Rolling Stone gag being the latest in his Twitter packaged messages.
