Hip-hoppers rejoice! Kendrick Lamar released the much-talked about remix of ‘Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe,’ which features Jay-Z. After Young Guru premiered it at SXSW, debates erupted online over who had the best verse between the two.

On the song, Lamar reflects on his success and vows to not let album sales dictate his future. “Y’all can keep the numbers / I’m more than another statistic, my n—- / This is courtesy of Compton / Brooklyn go hard motherf—a / Love me on the East like I was Chuck D / Dominicans wish that I was born there / I’m looking to be the God MC / You look at my hat and you see thorns there,” he raps.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z comes through with a verse that outweighs any doubts of who holds the hip-hop crown. “Name one n—- out there harder than me, I’ll wait,” Hov spits on the Sounwave-produced track. “I’ve been on my wave for like 20 years straight / I’ve been on my vibe for like 20 years straight / Don’t f— up my high / F— up my high / Night like this I can f— up a pie.”

Lamar closes the song with a killer verse aimed at the haters who think the Compton MC is overrated. “Told n—-s when I was 16 / That I write a 16 that put a n—- right on the big screen / In the paddy wagon with 16 / Should have been in the pen / But now my pen is writing with morphine,” he raps.

It’s a toss up on who had the best lyrics here. But, honestly, Lamar’s last verse was simply murderous.
