Kendrick Lamar is in high demand this weekend. Last night (July 3), K. Dot performed for thousands at the annual Essence Festival.

Kenny kicked off the set with To Pimp A Butterfly's "For Free?" before getting the crowd riled up with jams like "Backseat Freestyle," "good kid," "m.A.A.d city" and "Swimming Pools (Drank)." At one point the lit TDE rapper yelled out, "We fucked up in here tonight or what? Make some noise!"

"Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe" and "King Kunta" also got some burn.

Lamar wasn't alone. BJ The Chicago Kid, Ciara, DeJ Loaf and Puff Daddy and the Family were also among the acts who performed on Sunday.

Kendrick goes from New Orleans yesterday to Washington D.C. today as he is scheduled to perform at a 4th of July concert at the White House along with Janelle Monae. The concert was announced during a WH staff meeting on Friday (July 1).

This isn't the first time Kendrick has visited the White House. Back in January he kicked it with Obama and shot scenes for his “Pay It Forward” video where he talked about the importance of mentorship.

Obama is clearly familiar with Lamar as he has named "How Much A Dollar Cost" as his favorite song of 2015. He also picked K. Dot to win a hypothetical battle with Drake when asked back in January.
