The wait is officially over. Following the mixed reception of his 2014 anthem of positivity, 'i,' Kendrick Lamar is back with a new release from his yet-to-be-titled sophomore effort. An interesting aspect of the new track is 'Empire' actress Taraji P. Henson involvement. She whom announced that K. Dot had gave her the green-light to handpick a song from his anticipated LP and unleash it to the masses.

The song is titled 'The Blacker the Berry' and is the complete opposite from 'i' in terms of sound and tempo. Produced by Boi1da with additional production from Terrace Martin, the track is a sonic tour de force featuring sturdy drums, synthesizers and subtle riffs from an electric guitar. This is one song that immediately hits you on impact.

Kendrick is lyrically in go-mode, spitting unabashed rhymes celebrating his African heritage with an in-your-face attitude and no regards for bruised feelings or egos. "I'm the biggest hypocrite in 2015, once I finish this witnesses will convene just what I mean / I mean  it's evident that I be relevant to society / It's what you're telling me, penitentiary would only hire me," he raps.

Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance -- an honor that had escaped his grasp last year -- and Black History Month, the track and the forthcoming content featured on this LP is quite appropriate if we must say so. This is certainly shaping up to be the most anticipated album of the year.
