Kesha's mother, Pebe Sebert, has shared some positive news in the ongoing court battle(s) involving the pop star and her former producer and mentor Dr. Luke. But like everything else in this protracted legal imbroglio, it's complicated.

A New York judge has reportedly dismissed a lawsuit Dr. Luke brought against Sebert back in October 2014, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter. The suit claimed Sebert encouraged Kesha to break her contract with the producer and also alleges Sebert committed defamation against him by spreading claims of sexual and physical abuse.

New York Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich has dismissed Dr. Luke’s case against Sebert, saying that because the “alleged injury” didn’t take place in New York, there’s no jurisdiction for Sebert.

While that’s certainly good news for Sebert, things are by no means over: Dr. Luke reportedly filed another lawsuit, similar in nature, against Sebert in Tennessee.

The judge also ruled in favor of Kesha’s manager, Jack Rovner. Despite claims by Dr. Luke’s attorney that Rovner encouraged Kesha's lawsuit due to some deep-seated ill-will he has for Dr. Luke, Kornreich agrees that Rovner was merely doing his job as a manager.

The judge wrote, "Although Plaintiffs allege that Rovner hates and is jealous of Gottwald, that is not enough. The cases require a showing that the agent acted outside the scope of his authority, in bad faith, and committed an independent tort. Even assuming hatred and jealousy amount to bad faith, they are not torts."

Sebert tweeted about the dismissal earlier today:

She also claimed via Twitter that Dr. Luke is attempting to blackmail her to remove her writing credit from the Pitbull song "Timber," which featured Kesha on vocals:

Kesha’s court case against Dr. Luke, meanwhile, has been postponed to February 19, due to inclement weather.
