Kesha is suing her music producer Dr. Luke, claiming that he sexually, physically and verbally assaulted her over the past 10 years, according to Page Six.

"This lawsuit is a wholehearted effort by Kesha to regain control of her music career and her personal freedom after suffering for ten years as a victim of mental manipulation, emotional abuse and an instance of sexual assault at the hands of Dr. Luke," Kesha's lawyer told TMZ in a statement.

According to the lawsuit, which was obtained by TMZ, Kesha talks of specific instances in which the famed producer assaulted her. One such attack allegedly occurred when Dr. Luke reportedly made the singer snort a substance before getting on a plane and then "forced himself on her" during the flight. Another incident happened after he allegedly forced Kesha to drink with him and offered her what he called "sober pills." She reportedly woke up naked in his bed, feeling "sore" and "sick." Yet another attack allegedly occurred while at Dr. Luke's home, where he "violently thrashed his arms" at her, though she managed to escape.

News of the lawsuit is not surprising for Kesha fans, who have been adamant that the singer free herself from Dr. Luke for years. In January 2014, we reported that Kesha was attempting to gain creative control in her relationship with the producer. He also allegedly contributed to her developing an eating disorder, reportedly calling her a "fat f-----g refrigerator."

"The facts presented in our lawsuit paint a picture of a man who is controlling and willing to commit horrible acts of abuse in an attempt to intimidate an impressionable, talented, young female artist into submission for his personal gain," Kesha's lawyer added. "Kesha is focused on moving her life and her career beyond this terrible time."

UPDATE: Dr. Luke has fired back with his own lawsuit, claiming that Kesha is trying to extort him and get out of her contract with him. The producer's lawyer told TMZ that the singer's account of assaults are part of a "campaign of publishing outrageous and untrue statements," and that Kesha and her mom have already admitted their claims are false.
