Well, it was good while it lasted. Rapper Kid Cudi revealed Tuesday (April 2) that he has parted ways with Kanye West's storied label G.O.O.D. Music.

In an interview with Power 106 in Los Angeles, the Cudder assured fans that there's no rift between him and West. The 'Just What I Am' rapper wants to focus on his burgeoning label, Wicked Awesome Records, and his upcoming LP, 'Indicud.'

"Man, everything is cool. Everything is peace with everyone on the label, but I’m announcing that I’m no longer on G.O.O.D. Music," he stated (quotes courtesy of Dat New Cudi). "And this is something that no one knows really. I’m no longer on G.O.O.D. Music. Me and Kanye were actually talking on the phone the other day, and there’s been things I wanted to talk to him about.

"About me wanting to start my own direction, and he got because he’s trying to start his own new path, and trying new things as an artist [sic]. And he was just like ‘Man, I feel you. It’s cool. This is just from a business standpoint. There’s no beef with anyone on the label. It’s all love."

Although Cudi has left G.O.O.D. Music, he didn't rule out the possibility of collaborating with artists still on the label. “It’s not a bad thing. It’s just business. That's not saying I'm not going to be making songs with Big Sean, or working with Pusha T, Common, John Legend," he said.

This bittersweet news comes as Cudi releases his duet with Too $hort called 'Girls.' The Ohio rapper is also working on King Chip's forthcoming project.

“I wanna focus on Wicked Awesome, I wanna focus on [King] Chip, and that’s it," Cudi said. "I don’t want to have a full label of artists. I just wanna work on Chip and keep my sound going on the Cudi train.”

Kid Cudi's new album, 'Indicud,' which features cameos from A$AP Rocky, Michael Bolton, Kendrick Lamar and others, is due in stores April 23.
