Kid Cudi has heavy thoughts, and they're bundled into what he calls his "best work" yet, his new album, 'Satellite Flight: The Journey to the Mother Moon.'

During a promotional run for his first feature film, 'Need For Speed,' Cudi sat down with MTV News for a discussion that sped up pretty quickly on the creative process and details about the album that originally started as an EP in October 2013.

"It was supposed to be this mini little thing for the fans and it ended up forming a life of its own," Cudi told MTV News. "I'm really excited because it's my best work and it's a surprise. People weren't really expecting it. I was just on fire creatively."

Serving as the bridge between 'Indicud' and 'Man On the Moon:III,' and featuring the title song, the 'Up Up & Away' rapper plans to still leave listeners with twists, turns and spins, as Cudder uses 'Satellite Flight' as the perfect segue back into his 'Man on the Moon' series.

"It starts where 'Indicud' left off perfectly, and takes you right into 'MOTM III.' It's like a TV show that ends with that cliffhanger," Cudi continued. "The album ends that way, where you get that one song and before you know it, the song is over and the album is over, but there's a 'to be continued...' There's more to the story."

The 30-year-old rhymer plans to release 'Satellite Flight' this month, on his Wicked Awesome label imprint. An official date has not been set.
