It's totally hilarious when celebrities read 'Mean Tweets' on Kimmel, but when actual kids read tweets meant to bully them, the results are anything but funny.

An anti-bullying ad by the Canadian Safe School Network, a non-profit that addresses cyber-bullying, used the format of the popular Jimmy Kimmel segment in the ad that has now gone viral.

Ironically, the reason they chose that particular format was to point out that the videos give a message that cyberbullying is ok. The president of the network told Global News that the 'Mean Tweets' experience for kids is far different of that of a celebrity or someone with fame.

Adult celebrities have the maturity and confidence to overcome these hurtful words. Children don’t. For regular kids, words can cut like a knife.

In Kimmel's defense, the real humor in 'Mean Tweets'—at least for me—is seeing how ridiculous the people sound sending out the negative tweets. No 'Mean Tweets' segment drove that point home quite like the most recent edition featuring the oft-hated President Barack Obama.

In the end, their message is clear: "Cyberbullying is no joke."
