Killer Mike Talks Racial Injustice, Endorses Bernie Sanders On ‘Late Show’

If you're even vaguely familiar with Killer Mike, it's no secret that he is as concerned about the state of society as he is his bars. On Tuesday (Jan. 5), the Run the Jewels member visited The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to speak on a few topics ranging from music, race and politics.

The conversation began with Mike explaining his rap name that was given to him as a kid after winning a rap battle in school. He also delivered an update that Run the Jewels 3 is coming real soon.

But the meat of their conversation revolves around Killer Mike's feelings on the racial injustice spurred by the tragedies involving Mike Brown in Ferguson, Mo., and Eric Garner in New York, as well as other socioeconomic issues.

"The same problems that we're discussing today, we discussed in 1990, 1980, 1970, and 1970," he said in regards to the progress we've made as a country in terms of racial relations.

The Atlanta rhymer also endorses presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, who he touts as a leader that the country can believe in.
