No, that is not a typo. The King Cake Po-Boy exists and you can only get it in Lafayette La.

Just when you thought you've eaten everything King Cake from the King Cake burger in New Orleans to the Boudin King Cake at Twins Burgers in Lafayette. I even tried my hand at making the King Cake Shake. There is even a King Cake Soda by Abita and who can forget King Cake on a stick in Slidell La?

It's hard to believe that there are people in the world that have never even tried a King Cake and some have never even heard of a King Cake.

Oh yes, just when you thought that the world has given us everything King Cake, along comes Olde Tyme Grocery in Lafayette to say, you haven't tried everything yet.

They have something I've never seen before; 'The King Cake Po-Boy.'

According to Keith Ozene an employee and good friend at Olde Tyme Grocery said,

"It's our rendition and take of the infamous King Cake... it's served on fresh New Orleans French Bread from Langlinais Bakery right here in Lafayette ... we take blueberry pie filling and coat the Inside of the bread with it. We then take our locally smoked sausage from Mac's and glaze it in a brown sugar and rum glaze it is then topped with yellow green and purple confectioners glaze and served hot to where it melts in your mouth."

Sounds interesting and I can't wait to try it. They will have it now through Mardi Gras. So grab one while you can, and happy Mardi Gras.

If there is anything King Cake, I want to know about it. Please comment below.
