A knife was brought to school today at Alice Boucher Elementary in Lafayette.  Lafayette Police are telling KPEL News that they came to the school just after 8 this morning at the request of administrators.

A student told a teacher that another student had a knife that was carried into school in a book bag.  Administrators located the student and confiscated the knife, which had a 7″ blade.  Police were given the knife when they arrived.

The child, who is under the age of 10, was turned over to the parents.  School officials are handling the incident.
