The Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez on Me has been receiving mixed reviews from fans and critics alike. But the harshest criticism came from Jada Pinkett Smith, an extremely close friend to 2Pac, who went on Twitter to voice her displeasure over inaccuracies in the film. She calls the re-imagining of their relationship in the movie “deeply hurtful.”

“Forgive me... my relationship to Pac is too precious to me for the scenes in All Eyez On Me to stand as truth,” she tweeted.

In response, the film’s producer L.T. Hutton went on TMZ to explain his vision of how he was presenting 2Pac's life on the big screen.

"It came from the truth, from places and moments of her dialog and actual ideas that 'Pac actually had," he told the outlet in the video above. "I created this film in what you call the Holy Trinity -- who Tupac was, who he wanted to be, and who he had to be to survive the world he was introduced into."

"I found interviews that she gave us in a very true form," he continued. "Sometimes when you interview somebody for a film, things can be different. I actually found moments of video where she spoke about him so candidly that it was like... umm, I had to use it."

Although Jada slammed the movie, the veteran actress praised Demetrius Shipp Jr., who played 2Pac, and Kat Graham who portrayed Jada.

"To @KatGraham and @Dshippjr this is no fault of yours. Thank you for bringing so much heart and spirit to your roles," she tweeted. "You both did a beautiful job with what you were given. Thank you both."
