Ali Wood, a Lafayette High student, asked her friend to prom (using a great poster that she created) and the video is awesome!

Ali wants us to remind people that the Autism Society of Acadiana will hold its 10th Annual Walk for Hope this Saturday at Blackham Coliseum.

From the FirstGiving website:

Autism Society Acadiana's Walk for Hope is an annual family oriented event which aims to increase autism awareness while raising funds to support people with autism and their families. Funds raised provide stipends for families to attend autism-related seminars/conferences and recreational activities; provide mini-grants for teachers/professionals; maintain a lending library; and host local conferences and workshops on autism issues. Proceeds also support our administrative office and resource facility. We strive to make a positive impact on families affected by autism, assisting them as they travel along in their journey.

Onsite registration and sign-in for pre-registered participants begins at 7:30AM.

The one mile walk starts promptly at 9:00AM at the front of Blackham Coliseum and will proceed down Cajundome Blvd. and back to Blackham, followed by great family fun until 12PM. Food, snacks, and soft drinks will be available while supplies last.

Children's activities: assembling small building kits; fun jumps; balloon artist; art activities; carnival games; face painting; and gaming trailer with indoor/outdoor video games. Music will be provided by Domingue’s Disc Jockey Service.
