Travel Channel's website has put out a list of Travel's Best All-American Vacations for 2015, and Lafayette made the list!

Among great places like Redwood National Park in California and the Florida Keys, Lafayette, Louisiana was third on their list.

From the article:

A mix of historical and cultural influences has created the unique Cajun/French Creole food, music and language found only in this small part of the country. - Travel Channel

The article goes on to invite people to "enjoy a delicious (and messy) crawfish boil", dance to our unique music styles, and visit a swamp via airboat.

...in Lafayette, you'll get all the Mardi Gras celebration without the New Orleans tourism. - Travel Channel

Some other locations to make the list were the Peak to Peak Highway in Colorado and the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area on the border of Washington and Oregon, so we are in great company on this list!

Normally I would say "congratulations, Lafayette", but I think that the congratulations should go to you.  Without the people of Acadiana, Lafayette wouldn't be what it is, so THANK YOU ACADIANA!!  And congratulations!
