LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- Few details are known at this time about a bank robbery in Lafayette.

According to Lafayette Police Cpl. Paul Mouton, the suspect walked into the Chase Bank at the corner of Guilbeau and Congress with a note.

Mouton said the suspect walked into the bank wearing a surgical mask and holding an umbrella.He handed a note to the teller demanding money and then left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Lafayette City-Parish President Joey Durel said Monday afternoon that police strongly believe that the suspect is the same person responsible for Friday's robbery of a bank on Coolidge Street.

"[Police] have every belief...that it's the same person," Durel said.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a light-colored jacket and long dark pants.

No injuries were reported, and we'll bring you more information as we get it.
