Lafayette Police Involved In Sunday Afternoon Shooting

State Police confirm that a Lafayette Police Officer was involved in a shooting at Chateau Place & Halcott Dr. The location is just off of Cameila Blvd. in Lafayette.

According to KATC-TV 3 when police arrived at the residence, the subject opened fire on officers and police officers returned fire. Reports now indicate that the subject is deceased.

KATC reports that Lafayette Police were responding to a potential suicide call. When police arrived gunfire erupted. The case is still under investigation.
