Lil Wayne might not have dropped a legit solo album in over six years, but his status as an American icon remains intact. He once again proved as much by lip synching an NFL version of the Friends theme song to kick off the second week of the 2017 NFL season.

In the video, Weezy stands and stares into the camera as the revised version of the timeless Friends theme song begins playing. The NFL version of the track is, of course, loaded with references to football.

"Please, don't go 0-2 (just 'cause you can't catch a ball)/Don't go 0-2 (you've never been there before)/Don't go 0-2 (I bet my whole paycheck on you)," goes the hook for the NFL version of the Friends theme.

Throughout the clip, which lasts just a bit less than a minute, Weezy goes pretty hard, mouthing the lyrics and using his hands to project the frustration of fans living through a Super Bowl drought. The guy always puts on a show.

It's cool to see Weezy back in action after suffering a few seizures at the beginning of the month. Although his doctors and fans were concerned, Weezy's manager Cortez Bryant claimed that his client wouldn't be taking any breaks because it just isn't in his nature.

“I tell him that all the time but I don’t think that’s gonna work, man,” Bryant told TMZ after being asked if Weezy will follow his doctor’s orders to take a couple of weeks off. “He a workaholic. That’s what got him to where he is now man. He’s just [in] the studio all the time trying to make music, get through this situation and give his fans what they need."

Living up to his manager's words, Weezy was back in the studio just a few days later.
