Bill Withers is one of music's greatest songwriters with a catalog of timeless hits, and now there's a rumor that one of his biggest songs, "Lean on Me," will be remixed by Lil Wayne.

According to LilWayneHQ, Hot 97's Marisa Mendez wrote on Twitter that she heard some "dope new Wayne tracks" recently. When prompted by a user on what she heard, Mendez responded, "Some were from Collegrove. He has one with Kendrick, one he remixes "Lean On Me" to being about lean lol." Mendez has since deleted the exchange.

Wayne might not know that Killa Kyleon did something similar years ago on "Lean on Me." Hear that below.

Weezy has a number of projects in the works that this rumored song could land on. In a recent interview with DJ Drama, Wayne announced that he has another edition of Dedication and an untitled mixtape on the way. Along with these two projects, the Young Money MC also has the long-awaited Tha Carter V album coming at some point.

"I also been working on some crazy shit for a mixtape," he said.

In that same interview, Wayne touched on the current state of rap and how he comes from a different era.

“They settle for what works and it’s working. It works for ’em,” says Wayne when asked about the competition. “That’s why you don’t hear me knockin’ ’em. You don’t hear me hatin’, saying this is that or you shouldn’t do this or that, because it actually works for them. So if it works, it works but I’m just a part of a different culture, a different wave of music. And that wave was Jay Z, Nas, Biggie, and at that time it was all about being the best.”

Sounds like Weezy has a busy couple months coming up.
