I missed Lil Wayne's performance on MTV's 'Unplugged' last night because of the NBA finals, and I forgot to set the DVR!! I'm sure MTV will air a reply of the show, but until then, I got us covered.

Historically, MTV’s ‘Unplugged’ series featured rock bands stripping down and performing normally electric songs in acoustic fashion. There were some iconic hip-hop episodes of ‘Unplugged,’ like the one featuring LL Cool J.

On Sunday, June 12, Lil Wayne stormed through his very own ‘Unplugged’ special and he rocked it. He and his crowd were loud and proud, as the songs bounced off the stage with the type of lively energy that comes from being locked up for nearly a year and unable to perform before your thong of loyal and adoring fans.Weezy took the stage in a red cap, sweatshirt that read “WOW” and black shades. The sweatshirt came off after a handful of songs in, in favor of a white tee, and the cap was eventually flipped backwards as the rapper blew through tracks from ‘Tha Carter II’ and ‘Tha Carter III,’ as well as his “rock” album ‘Rebirth’ and the forthcoming ‘Tha Carter IV,’ which is due out at the end of the summer.

Leave it to Weezy to turn in a very different version of the show than the ‘Unplugged’ of old, which were intimate, quiet affairs. This set felt very full and boisterous, and Weezy was entertaining himself as much as the screaming fans.
