The friction within the Cash Money and Young Money families has resulted in some defection, as it was announced earlier this month (Sept. 8) that Tyga had joined Kanye West and G.O.O.D. Music. That news though has reportedly angered Lil Wayne, who feels he should have been consulted before Tyga was allowed to walk.

Tyga was one of the many artists Wayne had brought into his Young Money imprint, with the two recording such songs as "Faded" and "Senile" over the course of the past few years. According to TMZ, sources close to Wayne say that he is fuming after Birdman essentially released Tyga from his contract, particularly since Wayne is a 49 percent owner in Young Money.

Like Wayne himself, Tyga has expressed dissatisfaction with Cash Money in recent months, going so far as to drop a song titled "Cash Money" to vent his disdain. On the track, he raps, "Cause I’m paid, cash money/Cash Money never paid me, but your boy did his thing/And still made, cash money/Yeah it’s mine, I could throw it in the air if I wanna.”

Since being added to the G.O.O.D roster, Tyga has teamed up with new label mate Desiigner for the single "Gucci Snakes." While it was speculated that Kanye had signed Tyga due to their familial ties, seeing how Tyga's dating Kanye's sister-in-law Kylie Jenner, a report shortly after the signing said that the two artists have had a strong friendship for years and that “Kanye doesn’t take on ANY artist or project he doesn’t believe in personally."
