NBA Rookie and Los Angeles Laker Lonzo Ball thanked rap mogul Jay Z over the weekend for his support of the Big Baller Brand after the 4:44 rapper admitted to buying three pairs of the yet-to-be-released Z02 sneakers on the most recent episode of Rap Radar's podcast.

"I'm just thankful, man, appreciate it," Ball told TMZ Sports on Sunday afternoon after being asked about Jay's purchase. Lonzo, who was accompanied by a friend, was later asked if Jay's support would mean a future partnership between BBB and Roc Nation, to which Lonzo replied, "I just play basketball. I don't handle all of that."

Jay-Z is just the latest celebrity to speak out in support of LaVar Ball and Big Baller Brand vision. Joining rappers The Game, Nipsey Hussle and Slim Thug, as the only hip-hop acts to admit buying the shoes, the list of rappers will more than likely grow once Lonzo makes his professional debut.

Lonzo Ball’s first signature shoe under Big Baller Brand, the ZO2, is scheduled to officially release in November of 2017. The ZO2s were available for pre-order in early June for a whooping price of $495.
