LSU has announced that Mike VI's cancer has spread.

After a brief exam at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine on Monday, doctors were able to see that the tumor in Mike's head has grown and that the cancer has spread.

The school will hold a press conference today, Wednesday October 5th, to discuss further treatments for Mike.

Doctors say that they will not continue treatment on Mike. They estimate that he has 1-2 months to live.

LSU says that they will not let Mike suffer as the cancer continues to spread.

What a sad day at LSU.

The university did announce that they intend to replace Mike with a younger male tiger that needs a home. They hope to rescue a tiger from a "rescue home."
