In the past few months, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have become the hottest independent rappers in the music game. The Seattle rap duo popped their tags proudly with their performance on 'Saturday Night Live' over the weekend.

Backed by a six-man trumpet crew and singer Wanz, they performed their chart-topping hit 'Thrift Shop.' Dressed in a red suit with black slip-ons, Macklemore hopped around onstage as he rapped lines from his catchy song. His buddy Ryan Lewis was cooling in the back on the turntables, dressed in an all-white suit with matching fur coat.

Macklemore came back later to perform their second single, the stomping anthem 'Can't Hold Us,' featuring Ray Dalton on vocals. The dynamic duo came through with an energetic stage show that we haven't seen in a long time on 'SNL.'

If you like their performance, then check out Macklemore and Ryan Lewis on their U.S. tour. The jaunt rolls into St. George, Utah on March 8 and will hit college campuses music festivals through the summer.
