Man Steals Cash Register From Iberia Parish Store

The Iberia Sheriff's Office has a person of interest after a Weeks Island Road convenience store was robbed late Sunday afternoon.

Witnesses says the suspect took the cash register as the clerk was distracted.

The suspect took off in a red Chevy Trailblazer that was found a short time later.

The suspect is described as a white male about 6'6", weighing about two hundred pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Iberia Sheriff's Office.

A similar crime happened this past weekend in Broussard.
