Mayor Of Mobile Alabama Puts Up Billboard Stating They’re ‘The Birthplace Of Mardi Gras’ [VIDEO]

If you're looking to stir the pot between two states, this is one way to do it... by saying your state is the birthplace of Mardi Gras.

Let's be totally honest, when you think of Mardi Gras what comes to mind? New Orleans, Acadiana, Lake Charles and even Mississippi are probably on your list. Has anyone in the past 100 years said "Let's go to Mardi Gras in Alabama!" Ummmm, NO!

When we think of Alabama, we think beautiful beaches and summer vacation! Mardi Gras in Alabama? Not so much! Although it might be great there, it isn't the same as Louisiana.

The Mayor of Alabama says Mobile is where it all began (a statement that is still up for debate.) He even went as far as putting up a big sign on I-10 that says so. So, it must be official.

I wonder if Mardi Gras in Louisiana didn't do so well if he would be in the bucket clamming Mardi Gras? Sounds like someone is piggy backing! You can try to have Mardi Gras and say you even started it, but there is no state that does it like Louisiana! #sorryNOTsorry
