Frank Ocean's Boys Don't Cry zine is packed with great content, including the singer's favorite movies and songs and a conversation he had recently with Lil B. In there as well are poems by Tyler, the Creator and Kanye West, and the latter's "The McDonalds Man" considers the ulterior motives of french fries with such lines as, "I don't trust no food that smells that good."

While Kanye is using the fast food icon and its menu items as a metaphor for individuality, to not place so much stock in popularity, the chain nonetheless has expressed their appreciation for his words, taking to Twitter on Monday (Aug. 22), to drop some Kanye references of their own. "We're lovin' the love for McDonald's World Famous Fries and Apple Pies. Like the beef in our burgers our love for our fans' creativity is 100% real," the brand wrote in a tweeted message.

Kanye's attitude toward major corporations such as Nike has been well-documented, and so the cross-referencing here, McDonald's using the rapper's "Famous" in an indirect way, feels a bit out of place. He did however famously call out the chain's fish fillet sandwich on "Niggas in Paris," so perhaps he has an underlying appreciation for the eatery, though his tastes are likely too refined now. Regardless, Kanye has long said that he wants to produce goods on a mass market scale, pairing those tastes with affordable prices, and so a brand embracing him and his words in such a public way can only help that end.
