Meek Mill Appeals His House Arrest

Meek Mill is just a week into his three months on house arrest, but the Philadelphia rapper is already appealing the sentence. TMZ reports that Meek Mill's lawyer Joe Tacopina has filed an appeal as Meek wants to record music during his time on house arrest.

As part of the original sentence, Meek Mill is not allowed to work during his three months on house arrest. But according to TMZ's sources, Meek Mill has a studio in his home and would like to record music during his sentence. The report states that the Maybach Music Group artist does not have any problem with the length of the sentence.

Meek Mill's house arrest is the result of a probation violation that took place last year. The "Amen" rapper left his home of Philadelphia without a travel voucher and reportedly skipped out on a drug test. While it has never been confirmed, it's been speculated that the violation occurred when Meek Mill attended the 2015 American Music Awards in Los Angeles last November.

In February, Meek Mill was sentenced to 90 days on house arrest. This was considered a major victory for the MMG rapper at the time as he avoided any jail time. Meek's lawyers previously argued that any jail time would have "decapitated" his rap career. In addition to his three months on house arrest, the Dream Chasers Records boss will be on probation for six years following the completion of his sentence.
