At last -- Miley Cyrus is giving her fans a preview at her upcoming music! During her Art Basel performance on Dec. 3, the singer introduced 'The Twinkle Song,' a new track with a very unexpected origin.

"I've never played by myself on a stage before and I've never played a song that I've only played in my living room before, so I'm a little nervous," Miley explained before performing the track.

As for the inspiration behind the track? That would be the dreams she had after her friend's cat died.

"I write about death a lot, randomly," Miley explained to the audience. "I feel like her cat kind of told me what I was supposed to say to get her through it ... It was more therapy to me than anything."

Miley played the ballad on a tinsel-covered piano (that matched her own shiny silver wig!). It's an emotional song filled with contemplative lyrics, as Miley asks "What does it mean?".
