A Kansas mother took to Facebook to vent after she says her teenage daughter was body shamed by a Dillard's salesperson while trying on dresses in the changing room.

Megan Harris said she took her daughter dress shopping for an upcoming formal event at Dillard's Towne East Mall when she heard the unthinkable.

While Harris was snapping a picture of her daughter in a red dress she wanted her to try on, a Dillard's salesperson allegedly entered and told the teenage girl "she needed to wear SPANX if she wanted to wear that dress."

Clearly the mother was upset, and while the salesperson may have had the best intentions, Harris believes this type of behavior is what causes poor self image in young girls and damages their self esteem.

A lot of commenters supported Harris, while others said she may have been too harsh on someone who was only trying to help.
