New Jersey Nets Head Coach, Jason Kidd, could face up to a $50,000 for spilling his drink on the court as time was ticking off the game clock. The Nets, who were playing the L.A. Lakers, split his soda on the court with no timeouts left for his team, thus giving them time to setup a play.

TV replays show Kidd telling Tyshawn Taylor "Hit Me" in order for him to spill the drink and force a timeout to cleanup his mess. Although this tactic could be labeled "dirty" by some, I find it to be pretty smart.

The tactic didn't work because the Lakers won 99-94. The Nets are now 4-11 to start the season. If you are wondering, Kidd denied intentionally spilling his soda on the court in order to force an extra timeout.
