Looks like Nelly may need a new accountant.

TMZ reports that the St. Louis rapper was hit with a $2.4 million federal tax lien in August. Reportedly, because the amount of money owed is so large, the government could start seizing Nelly's assets and property.

Earlier this year, Nelly was in tax trouble on the state level as well. The Missouri Department of Revenue said he owed $149,511 in unpaid state taxes from 2013. Nelly is reportedly already working with state and federal tax authorities to resolve the issues.

On the music front, things are going much better for the rapper. He's set to perform a special concert in his hometown of St. Louis with the St. Louis Symphony. Nelly will present “A Night of Symphonic Hip Hop” on Feb. 3 at Powell Symphony Hall, and the 41-year-old rapper will rock the mic with a full orchestra conducted by David Robertson. The concert will feature orchestral flips of Nelly’s chart-topping hits including “Country Grammar,” “Hot in Herre,” “Ride Wit Me” and “Just a Dream.”

The 41 year-old rapper also hit another career marker early last month, when his debut album, Country Grammar and the 2012 single “Cruise” on which he's featured, reached diamond status.

Hopefully, he gets his tax issues resolved quickly so that he can get back to fully enjoying the milestones he's recently reached.
