Earlier this week, we told you that Drake was set to drop his new single "Started From the Bottom" on Grammy night. It seems as if Drizzy couldn't wait that long, releasing the single earlier tonight (February 1) on his OVO blog.

On the new Mike Zombie-produced single, it's clear to see that Drake doesn't appreciate everyone who thinks he had it easy coming up. He even penned a letter for his fans expressing his frustration.

I feel sometimes that people don't have enough information about my beginnings and therefore they make up a life story for me that isn't consistent with actual events. I did not buy my way into this spot and it was the furthest thing from easy to achieve. I am proud of every part of my past and I'm excited for this song to find a place in your life as well.

He went onto say that it felt natural to come back to square one with his diehards, releasing the first single off his upcoming album the same way he introduced himself in the beginning.

I didn't feel I needed any interviews or radio or press to launch this song. It felt right to come back to the site that I started on and release it to the people that started here with me. Judging by this post, the tour that we've been planning, the conversations about new songs and album artwork...I think it's safe to say we're back together again. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

While it is true that Drake didn't have it nearly as tough as other rappers in the game, his journey wasn't a cakewalk - nor was the game handed to him. Based on the lyrics in "Started From The Bottom," there is a clear underlying frustration over how Drake is perceived - and who he really is.

Sitting at the top of his game, on the hottest label, and with his third major label LP on the way - should Drake even be concerned with his doubters, haters, and naysayers?

Probably not, but here is the new single. Tell us what you think!
