This Halloween, there will be a new haunted house attraction in New Orleans called the New Orleans Nightmare, and seems like the perfect haunted road trip for you and the family.

Nola.com reports the New Orleans Nightmare is operating out of the building where the House Of Shock was for the past 25 years. Unlike the House Of Shock however, manager Sandy Lindsay says this will be a much more family friendly Halloween attraction.

Lindsay tells nola.com "that the new haunt will be plenty creepy, but it will no longer have the heavy metal / satanic vibe of the old HOS that enchanted some while alienating others."

From nola.com -

"Lindsay said that the New Orleans Nightmare will include escape rooms and high-tech features that will bring the old haunted house more in line with contemporary Halloween attractions across the country.

The Butterworth Street haunt will no longer be staffed by volunteers, Lindsay said. Instead, roughly 125 paid ghosts, zombies and various metaphysical monsters will be on hand to, uh, entertain guests."

The New Orleans Nightmare opens September 21st , is located at 319 Butterworth St. and is recommended for those 12-years-old and up.
