There's a handful of new laws going into a effect Saturday, August 1st you should know about. From increased litter fines to shrimp and turtles, here a list of what's taking effect. Read up, because we don't you getting any tickets or fines!

1) Crime And Courts - There are a few things going on here. Revenge porn, a nude or partially-nude cellphone picture or video shared without permission, often in an attempt at public shaming someone, is now punishable by up to two year in jail and up to $10,000 in fines. Also, the terms "simple rape," ''forcible rape" and "aggravated rape" are being changed in an effort of sensitivity to "third-degree rape", "second-degree rape" and "first-degree rape".

There also a few laws concerning domestic violence in regards to eviction and lease agreements. You can get a more detailed look at over at theind.com.

2) SHRIMP AND TURTLES - Great news here for shrimpers, shrimp lovers and even for turtles. A law from 1987 prohibiting certain nets is being taken off the books. Starting tomorrow, wildlife officials will be able to enforce new federal requirements for shrimp nets to include escape hatches for sea turtles. These shrimp nets hopefully mean more shrimp for us to yummy down on, and keep the turtles safe. A win win!

3) INCREASED LITTER FINES - Litter fines will double starting tomorrow. Fines will be $150 for a first offense and $1,000 for each offense after that. Fines for blatant intentional littering will increase anywhere from $500 to $2,500. Improper disposal of larger items like furniture could cost you upward of $10,000.
