Can you imagine winning the lottery just to be told that your lotto ticket was a misprint?

That happened to John Wines of New Mexico when he bought a lottery ticket a New Mexico gas station. According to WGNO Mr. Wines started scratching the ticket, he then came across multiple winning numbers totaling over $500,000.

The only thing is the max on the ticket is 250,000! That threw up a red flag!

Wines thought he hit the biggest pay day of his life. That's until he brought the ticket back into the gas station and they told him it was a misprint! Can you imagine his disappointment.

But Wines didn't want to take "it's a misprint" as an answer.  Can you blame him? The next step is to call New Mexico lottery.

He got an email reply back for New Mexico lottery saying:

"We did find a flaw in that particular pack of tickets and it's been reported to our printer. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. We did a complete reconstruction of your ticket and it was not a winner."

What can you do in this situation other than get a lawyer? But that would probably cost nearly as much as the lotto ticket payout would have been.

New Mexico lottery did offer him $100 in lotto tickets, no word on if he took the offer. Would you?
