Chris Brown, Travis Porter, will.i.am & More [New Music Tuesdays]
For some people Tuesday marks the second day of the work week. For others, like me, it means new music. New albums & singles usually always drop on a Tuesday. But Why?
It's because the sales of CDs, along with Bluray, DVDs and even video games are tracked by Soundscan.
Soundscan measures the number of weekly sales starting on Tuesday through the following Monday. Publishing companies out out product on Tuesday so that first week sales data is an even seven days; meaning sales from the first week can be compared to sales from the weeks to follow in an accurate manner.
Now that you know that little tidbit of info, let me get to my next order of business. Being that I love music, I want to share it with everyone; so what better way than to bring you some new music every Tuesday? Now, granted, new albums from your favorite artists don't come out every week, but I'll do my best to find new album releases & singles that are worth a listen, as well as providing a little background. So, every Tuesday, look for the blog here at 1079ishot.com and get your new music fix.
Let's get it started!
Not many new albums out this week, but after doing some digging, I ran across something that was re-issued today that I think EVERYONE should check out.
Even if you aren't a Marley fan. Even if you aren't a reggae fan. You would dig this album. I'm even willing to bet there are songs on here that you know, but just had no idea it was Marley, or you just didn't know the name.
Here are a couple classics from this album, have a listen
I highly recommend checking out this classic album, and what better day than today since it has been re-issued!
Not many new singles being released today, but one of my favorite artists is enjoying the spotlight all to herself. 'In The Dark' is the latest single from Dev. You have heard her voice on the hook of the latest New Boyz single, 'Back Seat'. On an even more familiar tip, she is the voice you hear "poppin bottles in the ice, like a blizzard" on the smash hit 'Like A G6' from Far East Movement. Both of those tracks were produced by The Cataracs, so Dev stuck with the winning formula on her latest single, check out 'In The Dark' below.
Dev - 'In the Dark'
Peep a hot video from The Cataracs featuring Dev on the hook and in the video. Hot.
Hot In The Clubs
My picks this week for the club all have one thing in common. Spring Break. Poolside, on the water, wherever you party ... these new tracks will get fists pumping and tailfeathers shaking.
Chris Brown ft. Benny Benassi - 'Beautiful People'
Chris Brown teams up with dance icon Benny Benassi ('Satisfaction') to churn out this vocal dance anthem. Plenty of remixes of this song have dropped and it has barely hit the radio yet. One of my favorites so far in 2011.
Wolfgang Gartner ft. Will.i.Am - 'Forever'
The Black Eyed Peas front man hopped on a hot track produced by dance monster Wolfgang Gartner. The pop sound of Will.i.Am's vocal perfectly compliments this song and takes you straight to the club. I have played this in every set for last two months! Bang.
Travis Porter - 'Bring It Back'
Do exactly what the song says. Travis Porter is heating up with this single. It has all the key elements for a club banger. Specific directions to "bring it back." A catchy beat, and plenty of BASS. This track was heavily influenced by the bounce music of New Orleans so the booty shaking is almost second nature when this comes on in the club. Back it up!
Be sure to check back next Tuesday, and every Tuesday for your weekly edition of New Music Tuesdays !
