If you've ever been to New Orleans, you've seen it while walking around the downtown/Jackson Square area. You may have taken a pic or two with the cannon. It sits at the entrance of the Cabildo. The cannon is from the Spanish Colonial era, and thousands of people pass it every day.

The maintenance crew for the Cabildo decided to look inside of the cannon, and they couldn't believe what they found. It was a cannon ball, at least 150 years old, inside the muzzle.

Maintenance Director Wade Levy told  WWL:

"You could see the part, like part of the sphere of the cannonball down there. I thought oh my God, I couldn't believe it was a cannonball."

It was loaded for over a century and no one knew!!
