New Orleans Mom Surprises Her Son With Celebrity Prom Date

It's very rare for a celebrity to go on a prom date with a fan. It's just as rare for a mom to contact a celebrity for a surprise prom date with her son, but that's how it happened for 17-year-old Dylani Barnarin, who's mom, Mynnye Shaw, helped him get the prom date of his dreams.

According to WGNO, Shaw wanted Parker McKenna Posey, who played Katie on the TV show, 'My Wife and Kids,' to be his prom date. So Mrs. Shaw contacted her on twitter with,

"My son would love to take you to his senior prom. What do I have to do to make that happen?”

That same night Mrs. Shaw got a email from Parker's agent saying yes, she will go to prom with him. They flew Parker to New Orleans and put her up in a hotel without ever telling Dylani.

Needless to say, when he found out he was very happy.
